This season, the SAS U13 Boys Football Team took their teamwork off the pitch and into Rock Park, one of Barnstaple’s most valued green spaces, for a community tree‑planting initiative. HM‑D Capital was pleased to support and be present for the day.
Rock Park is used daily by families, schools, walkers, and sports clubs. Planting new trees there is a quiet but important investment in the town’s future: improving air quality, providing shade, and enhancing the space for generations to come.
For the players, the project was a chance to see that being part of a team is about more than match results. It is also about contributing to the place you live, working together on something that will last, and taking responsibility for the environment around you.
For HM‑D Capital, the initiative reflects the same mindset we bring to our investments in UK business acquisitions: stewardship, long‑term thinking, and leaving assets stronger than we found them. Supporting the club’s tree‑planting in Rock Park was a natural extension of that approach.
We are grateful to SAS Football Club and the volunteers who made the day possible, and proud that the SAS U13 players will be able to point to those trees in the years ahead and say, “We helped plant those.”
